Tapovan means forest of spiritual practice. Adventure lovers will love the Tapovan trek as it involves mountain climbing, rock climbing and exploring the glaciers. The treks take one to the Gaumukh on Gangotri glacier which is source of river Ganga.

Itinerary
Our base camp for the trek is Gangotri and We can arrange your transport from Dehradun/Rishikesh in the morning of Day-1 on actual basis. One side fare for one person is vary from 1000 to 2000. You will pay that directly to the driver. Reach Gangotri in the evening, Check in hotel/homestay. You can explore Gangotri Temple and market. Dinner and Overnight stay in hotel.
Gangotri being above 10000 feet, you need a day to get acclimatised to the weather. It is necessary for anyone to take a day for acclimatization before starting the Tapovan trek. Drink plenty of water today. Have dinner and stay overnight at the hotel.
After having breakfast, we will start trekking to chirbasa where we will be walking along with thr pine forest and Bhagirathi River. We will trek for 4-5 hours after we will be having lunch. Dinner and night in campsite.
After breakfast start trekking to Bhojbasa. After Chirbasa the terrain becomes desolate and barren. As you get closer to Bhojbasa you will start feeling the chilly wind touching your face. Reach the campsite at Bhojbasa by afternoon. You will have time to explore the surrounding area. Enjoy the enchanting sunset on Bhagirathi ranges and have your dinner. Overnight stay at the camps.
Rise and shine with the stunning sunrise view from your camps. Have your breakfast and start your trek to Tapovan through Gaumukh, the source of Ganga River. Gaumukh is where the water of Ganga River trickles down from the glaciers. Trek through grassy meadows, rocks and boulders, sandy beaches sheltered by enormous piles of granite. After a steep climb, the surrounding peaks will become clearer. Tapovan is known for its beautiful meadows and serve as the base camp for the Shivling peak. You might spot herds of Blue mountain goat which is a very common sight here. The views from this place are majestic. Have dinner at the campsite and stay overnight.
Get up early in the morning so that you can have some last views of mountains that are shining in bright sun rays. We will trek back to bhojbasa and spend night there.
It’s time to trace the trail back. After breakfast start trekking downhill to Gangotri. Your trek will end at Gangotri. Overnight stay at Gangotri.
Early morning after breakfast, leave for Dehradun for your return journey.

Note :
If you want to offload your Rucksack and carried by our Pack Animal/Porter then you need to pay additional Rs. 700 per day. The Rucksack should not weigh more than 10 Kg. Trolly bag or duffle bag not allowed.
Transportation to and from Gangotri is not included in the package. The best way to reach there is shared taxi. We can book that on behalf of you, which is directly payable to the driver in cash. Other way is book State transport from Rishikesh or Dehradun.
